TACHIKAWA CITY’S LANDMARKS: #15 PALACE HOTEL
After 2 weeks delay, we can finally celebrate my friend’s 40th birthday at the Palace Hotel today! She was stricken with influenza during her natal day that we canceled our reservation at Il Pepe Restaurant inside the hotel. The original attendees cannot make it today so we ended up only 4 to enjoy the luncheon party. Still a memorable event for Maricel Goda who I first met at Tachikawa International Friendship Association (TIFA) Japanese Language Class in 2010. We maintained our friendship that I readily employed her at my school when it was incorporated in 2014.
What’s at the Palace Hotel? The name speaks for itself. More than two decades ago, I entered this luxurious hotel for the first time courtesy of my adult student. I was impressed by its ambiance especially the elegant chandeliers, unique sculptures around the palace and the smorgasbord restaurant. More opportunities to eat here as arranged by my adult students. I had been suggesting gatherings here, especially during lunchtime so we can enjoy the buffet. It’s also easy to locate because of it’s proximity to North Tachikawa Station of Tama Monorail and JR Tachikawa Station. The hotel also serves as a depot for Limousine buses bound for Narita and Haneda airports.
Next time you’d like to have a classy celebration, why not try the Palace Hotel at 2-40-15 Akecho-cho, Tachikawa-shi, Tokyo, 190-0012. Phone #: 042-527-1111 Website: http://www.palace-t.co.jp/english/
